There was a cave located in a forest where it is never day, and the mouth of the cave has a veil which blocks any attempt at looking in. Even still, the inhabitants of the forest know there’s a light inside; it’s small but bright, and it moves toward the entrance, getting bigger and bigger, but right at the threshold it runs back.

Why does it do that? If it was outside, it could possibly illuminate the entire forest, or perhaps just a small portion. When was the last time it’s been outside? Has it ever been outside?

Those who live in the forest know of it, but is it due to rumors, catching glimpses of it, or because they themselves tried to drag it out? The cave is a good shelter from a storm or an escape from a hungry wolf, so maybe someone came across the light then.

The light continues to go back and forth, getting smaller, getting bigger.
